It is committed towards imparting professional training to the personnel
in the field of garment manufacturing technology, including pattern making / cutting techniques, Production Supervision Quality
Control techniques to ensure that quality garments are manufactured for the global market by the garment units.
The
ATDCs, spread across the country, seek to develop skill at the grass root level to make the employees of the Garment Manufacturing
Industry aware of the yardsticks of quality the export demands-including the different patterns required & the latest
techniques in vogue in Cutting, Stitching & Finishing of Apparel.
The last few years have seen ATDC streamlining
its activities in tune with its objectives. From an initial strength of a mere 195 student training in 1996, number of students
passing out every year has risen to 2000 since 1998. Overall, more than 10000 students have been trained in the different
centres of the ATDC, since its inception. All students are being suitably employed in the garment industry. . |

ATDC - Future Plans | |

- Setting up of new ATDCs in Mumbai, Noida, Gurgaon, Ludhiana, Kanpur,
Bhubaneshwar, Tirupur, Surat & Trivandrum.
- To modernize the present courses through tie-ups with CAD/CAM manufactures.
- Setting up of testing laboratories to provide various testing facilities
to the students, in order to enrich their knowledge & experience.
- To provide technical assistance to artisans, craftmen, manufacturers,
designers and exporters of fashion products, through research and publications of literature with particular reference to
the programmes of fashion Industry in the country.
- To undertake, select applied research studies and application thereof
in areas of fashion industry particularly concerning the integration of locally produced materials, the requirements of mass
production improved product design and international marketing.

ATDC – Industrial Training
As
a part of course curriculum, the students are sent for Industrial Training of 15 days in the reputed Export Houses / Garment
Manufacturing Units to have a sufficient practical knowledge and exposure to the industry.
Computer
Aided Designing (CAD)
The students are exposed to modern techniques |
of apparel designing on the computers.
Special
drive for the training of SC, ST & OBC students
Special drive is launched for the training of SC, ST and OBC students
in co-ordination with the respective Govt. agencies.
Campus Interviews
All possible assistance is provided for the suitable placement of the
students after the completion of training. For this purpose, the Export Houses are invited for campus interviews for the selection
of students rolled out by the Centres. Majority of the students are absorbed by the industry through Campus interview itself.
Faculty
The Faculty members are highly qualified and are possessing vast teaching
experience in the field of Apparel Manufacturing Technology. They are well versed about the problems generally found in the
Export Houses in different departments.
Machine Room / Work Shops
All the training Centres have well equipped Sewing and Cutting Labs /
Machine rooms having modern machines of Juki, Pegasus and Brother make for providing practical training to the students.
